Prayer at the Cross
As I write this, we are headed to the airport to send our son back to college for his spring semester. I am so thankful for these past 3 weeks! It has been wonderful having my little family back together. It just feels complete. It is so hard to let Him go, however, I know that this is what we raised him for - to follow God's calling on his life. I just never knew this time would come so quickly. It has been so difficult for me!
As we were leaving, my husband suggested that we have prayer together. I was so thankful! It was exactly what I needed. We held hands together to pray, we looked up and saw the cross. Literally, there was a 198 foot white cross at the intersection of interstate 57 and 70. It was so beautiful!
Tears began to flow as I thought of how blessed I am. I am blessed with the redeeming love of my Savior. I am blessed with a godly husband who has always been the spiritual leader of our home. And 18 years ago, I was most blessed with the opportunity to be Andrew's mom! Thank you Lord!
The words to one of my favorite songs came to my mind, "At the Foot of the Cross." (Kathryn Scott)
At the foot of the cross
Where grace and suffering meet
You have shown me Your love
Through the judgment You received
And You've won my heart
Yes You've won my heart
Now I can
Trade these ashes in for beauty
And wear forgiveness like a crown
Coming to kiss the feet of mercy
I lay every burden down
At the foot of the cross
At the foot of the cross
Where I am made complete
You have given me life
Through the death You bore for me
I'm laying every burden down
I'm laying every burden down
Lord, I'm laying every burden down at the foot of the cross this morning. My worries, fears, and struggles . . . I'm leaving them all. Thank you for being my comfort and strength. Thank you for bearing my burdens. You've won my heart and I love you Lord!
Do you have any burdens you need to lay down? Surrender them all to Jesus. Psalm 68:19 says, "Praise be to the Lord, to God, our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. I am praying for each of you and love my Journey Girls!

2 Response to Prayer at the Cross
I have had such a blessed morning, praising God. I was listening to Revolution song, Wow! I am thinking about Gods love for me,I am on a healing quest to know it with my heart and not just my head. As I was praising, the spirit brought my two little girls to my mind, words can not describe how much he has shown me his love through them. It has been an amazing gift of how much He loves me! PRAISE YOU! MY LORD!
Thanks for sharing Maggie! Your girls are such a blessing!! :) I love you & I'm so happy that you are on this journey with me! Praying for you!
