A Divine Love
Congratulations Journey Girls! We have been on our journey together for a whole week! We have already seen God work in so many ways!! I am so blessed to be on this journey with you. As I pray for you each day, I feel as though I'm getting to know you better. I am crazy about you girls! :)
Have you ever been in love? You know the kind that makes you weak in the knees? I will never forget the first time I saw my husband. I had seen a previous picture of him in a college magazine before I ever went to school. I thought he was so dreamy! ;) Tom & I dated for almost 3 months before we first kissed. I will never forget that kiss! I tingled all the way down to my toes! Aaahhhh, how sweet love is. . . .I am still crazy about my man! I am so blessed to be in love with a man who loves Jesus with all his heart, soul, mind & strength. He is a godly, passionate man of God who is not afraid to stand for truth!! I LOVE that about him. I might also add that he is VERY handsome! :)
However, as amazing as this love can be, there is a greater love than this. It is a Divine love that flows from what is right and best. It is not a feeling. It is Agape, the love of God. Agape comes straight from the heart of God! 1 John 3:16 says, "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us." and 1 John 4:9-10 says, "This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might have life through Him. This is love: not that we have loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." Agape love is a sacrificial love. God's love is greater than our hearts.(1 John 3:20)
In order to be a vessel of this love, we must belong to Christ. (1 John 4:7-21) Isn't it incredible to think that as we allow the Holy Spirit to fill our entire being, that Agape love will flow from us? I want to draw so close to Jesus, that I ooze Agape!! How about you?
We are commanded to love one another. (John 13:34-35, Mark 12:31) Sometimes this comes easy, and sometimes not so much. That is why we need the love of our Savior. I am so thankful that He does not treat me as I deserve! (Psalm 103:10-14) God loves us so much and wants us to be His vessel for the outpouring of His Agape love to others. Ephesians 5:1-2 says, "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children, and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."
As you continue your journey, love others with Agape! Allow His Spirit to reach out to others through you. Show them the grace that has been shown to you. Be a vessel for His glory! Let's journey on!!
Loving you,
Elisabeth

4 Response to A Divine Love
My "GODSTOP" came today around the dinner table with my family. My 3 y/o Hayden has not been feeling well for the last couple of days and I guess today got the best of him he messed in his PJ's (not once but twice)glad he was home with his dad today..hehehe
So I asked him why he did that, was he to involved playing on the wii and not just make it upstairs. He told me he couldn't hear it through his mouth. Somethings make you go HMMMMM, I told him that he does not hear with his mouth he hears through his ears. He looks at me with the most serious face and says "I didn't have them turned up" HMMMMMMMM!!!! After much laughter I begin thinking about that. Do I have my ears turned up to hear God speak? Be Still and know that I AM GOD!!! I want to be still and hear the Lord loud and clear. I want to hear that soft whisper "well done my child, well done" Thank you Lord for my GodStop today reminding me to be still and listen to what you have to say. Thank you for my babies (Hailey and Hayden) reminding me you are still performing miracles today. May my ears always be turned up to hear your words.
My 7 year old today while driving down the road says, "Mom you know that prayer we say when we want to go to heaven"? yes, I said to ask Jesus in our heart.(we have been talking about this since I can remember)"yes" she says, well I think I'm ready to do that. I like most moms wanted to cry. I am so thankful that God has given her such a tender and loving heart. Godstops don't get much better than that. Jesus you are AWESOME!
