"Pala" Praise!
Psalm 118:23 - "The LORD has done this and it is marvelous in our eyes."
That word "marvelous" or "wonderful" is "pala" in Hebrew meaning surpassing, extraordinary, separate by distinguishing action. We see this word in Joshua 3:5 and Psalm 139:14 as well.
I love Joshua 3:5! It says, "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you."Do you remember a time the LORD did something amazing in your life? My friend, the mere fact that we breathe and have life is amazing! The God of the universe created you and you are fearfully and wonderfully (pala) made.
I remember the night I gave my heart to Jesus! I was only 6 years old. I remember listening to my Daddy preach and feeling the conviction of the Holy Spirit for the first time in my life. I wanted Jesus to come into my heart. At the close of the service, I went to the altar and prayed a simple prayer of salvation. That day Jesus performed "pala" in my life! He did something wonderful, marvellous, extraordinary, and surpassing! Jesus came into my heart and saved my soul. Thank you Lord!
I am so thankful that God still does amazing things. Nothing is impossible for Him. (Luke 1:37) When we consecrate ourselves to the Lord and allow His Spirit to work in and through us, we will see amazing things.
My challenge to you, my sweet Journey Girls: surrender everything to Jesus this week! Consecrate yourselves to Him. Give Him first place in your heart and life and watch for the "pala."
I want to hear your story! Maybe it's how you came to Jesus or maybe it is something amazing that He has done this week. Share your story and give Him praise! "Pala Praise!"
I love each one of you and God is using your story to encourage me and others on this journey. Thank you so much for sharing! I cannot wait to see what God does tomorrow!
Praising Jesus,
Elisabeth

2 Response to "Pala" Praise!
Joshua 3:5 "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you." We began our "Believing God" bible study tonight and Beth Moore took us to this scripture many times. Praise God, we had 8 high school girls (9th to join next week) & 4 adult ladies and it went great. Since I had already watched the video session, I found myself many times, just watching the faces of these young women as they were taking it all in. Smiling faces, intent faces, a few yawns now and then, very intently writing in their workbooks, and franticly turning pages in their bibles to try and keep up with Beth Moore. It was AWESOME!!! Just to see them searching their bibles was amazing. She spoke alot about God's desire to "bless us in our calling". He definitely blessed me in mine tonight!!! This is such a huge, huge thing to ask a teenager to sit through an hour long video but they did great. Please pray for them as they begin their first week of homework sessions. I cant't wait to see what God does with all of us over these next 9 weeks!!!
Rhonda,
I am SO excited for you and all these girls! I cannot wait to hear all the LORD does during this study!!I am continuing to pray for all of you.
I love what you said about God's desire to "bless us in our calling." I need to listen to that again!
I love & miss you!!
