So Long Insecurity Discussion - Week Five
Good Morning sweet friends! I pray you are doing well and having an awesome week with the Lord! I am posting later this week. My husband and I have been travelling. We are in Kentucky right now and I must say. . . it feels so good to be "home." We have spent our best years of ministry here and most of our married life. Kentucky holds some wonderful memories and it is nice to be back in the Bluegrass! :)
I don't know about you, but I absolutely loved our reading this week. Chapter 9 of "So Long Insecurity" has been my favorite chapter thus far in our study. What a blessing to pray God's Word and spend some precious time with our Savior! Beth had asked us to write down five Scriptures that spoke powerfully to us right now. I had trouble choosing only five. Oh, how I love the Word of God!
The Scripture that the Lord spoke most powerfully to me this week was Deuteronomy 33:12. I placed my name in the verse and allowed the Lord to speak directly to me. Place your name in the blank below and allow the Lord to speak to your soul.
"About ______________ He said: Let the beloved of the LORD rest secure in Him, for He shields him all day long, and the one the LORD loves rests between His shoulders." (Deuteronomy 33:12)
What a blessed assurance that we can rest secure in the LORD. I remember when Andrew (my son) was a little boy and my husband would carry him on his shoulders. What a sweet memory! He could see better up there. He was right by his Daddy’s face. He could hear him and cling to him. He felt safe and secure! Beloved, just imagine our Daddy, Abba, carrying us on His shoulders. We can see clearer when we seek His face. We can hear God speak. He loves us so much and we can rest in Him as He carries us.
I think of a shepherd carrying his sheep. He would always place the sheep across his shoulders and protect him. The Shepherd of our souls does this for us. He shields us all day long and protects us. Pour your heart and soul out to Him and allow God to bring healing and restoration. The Lord knows you better than you know yourself. Ask Him to speak to your heart and reveal Himself to you! Ask Him for His protection and allow Him to be your shield.
We are at a turning point in our journey for security and God is doing an amazing work in and through our lives! When you struggle this week, read back through the prayer in Chapter 9. Allow the sweet Savior to place you upon His shoulders and carry you. Give Him your worries, fears and insecurities and rest in His love.
I love you girls and I am praying for you! Continue to stay in God's Word and allow Him to speak to your heart. I am excited to hear what He is speaking to you.
Resting on His Shoulders,
Elisabeth
