Digging Up Roots!
Journey Girls,
I hope this finds you in the middle of a blessed day with our Lord! I am writing after a long weekend of much prayer and seeking about next steps. God is so faithful and so good! I can hardly wait to see what HE has just around the corner. I am also very anxious to see my boy! Actually, I just purchased plane tickets for him to come home for Spring break! YAY!! I can't wait to hug his neck and give him a big ole "Momma kiss!" (For those of you who are Moms, you know exactly what I mean.) I am thankful for technology though. It has been such a blessing to be able to Skype with Andrew. It does me so much good to see his sweet face each week.
Enough about me, how are you girls doing? How is your reading coming along? How is your time with Jesus? I am really enjoying this book study. If you have just joined us, don't worry, you just follow along at your own pace. Let me just encourage you to be persistent and continue on! This book gets better and better!
This week we are reading Chapters 5 and 6 of Beth Moore's book, "So Long Insecurity." We are looking at some of the deep roots of insecurity. Have you ever tried to dig up roots? It is not an easy task! Sometimes we have to dig very deep to get to the root of a matter! That is exactly what we have been doing this past week. One thing that I discovered is that sometimes these roots are intertwined and they work to threaten or "choke out" our security.
As we continue to study some of these deep seated roots and begin to dig them up together, don't be afraid! Isaiah 41: 9-10 says, "I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God." Our God is with us and He loves us so very much! He desires to heal us from our deep wounds. I love what Beth wrote in Chapter 5. "God knows exactly what happened and what a toll it took. He knows the number it played on your mind. Let Him bring you peace. Let him tell you you're worth wanting, loving, even liking, pursuing, fighting for, and yes, beloved, keeping. Whatever you do, don't reject the only One wholly incapable of rejecting you." (pg. 77). God knows us, He knows our circumstances and He loves us! He is the only One who can bring complete healing and wholeness to our lives. Let's allow Him to help us dig up the old roots and plant something new in the soil of our souls. Thank you Abba (Daddy) for what You are teaching us through Your Word and through this study.
I am so excited to hear what He is doing in and through your life! Please continue to comment, even if you are not as far along in the reading. I love hearing from you and it is such an encouragement to me. I love each of you and I am praying for you!
