New Year, New Hope!
Happy New Year Journey Girls!! I know that it has been quite some time since I last blogged. Let me take a few moments to update you on my journey. My husband & I moved back to Kentucky last August and he took an interim pastorate in Florence. We are currently located in Lexington and I am working as a nursing instructor at a local community college. His interim was complete in October and we are anxiously awaiting our next steps. We are praying about where God wants us to be and cannot wait to see what the new year holds! Our son is a sophomore at Azusa Pacific University and doing great! It has been such a joy having him at home for a few weeks over the holidays.
These last three years have been a difficult journey for our family, and those of you who took the 40 day challenge with me last January know all about our story. However, we are so blessed and I continue to praise Jesus for who HE is and all HE has done in and through our lives. His provision, strength, love and grace is so amazing!! There have been many times during the past few years that I have felt a sense of "hopelessness." I know that this is a lie from the enemy, because through Jesus Christ, we have a HOPE!!
This year is going to be a New Year of new opportunities, new trials, new mountaintops, new valleys and new hope! I am excited to see all that God does in and through us. Scripture tells us that HE goes before us and HE is our rear guard. HE knows all that will take place this year and HE will be with us every step of our journey. I am starting off the year with scripture memory and I invite you sweet sisters to join me. I love the LPM blog and Beth Moore has a group of "Siesta Sisters" that memorizes 2 scriptures each month. You can go to her blog site to read the instructions and join me in this adventure! http://blog.lproof.org/
The first scripture that I am attempting to put to memory is Romans 15:13 (NIV). "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." This is my prayer for you, sweet journey girls, that the GOD of HOPE fills you with joy and peace this year, so that you will overflow with hope and love to others by the power of the Holy Spirit.
I am going to try to do a better job at blogging this year. I have missed each of you and look forward to hearing what God is doing in your life!! You are loved!
HAPPY NEW YEAR,
Elisabeth
